Climate and Sustainability Communications Cohort

This cohort is designed to help local governments strengthen their climate and sustainability communications through structured technical assistance. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to refine your approach, this program offers practical guidance at both beginner and intermediate levels.

The first session will cover core foundations to support those new to the material. The following three sessions will focus on intermediate-level strategies, featuring 30-minute breakout discussions and assignments for deeper engagement.

ICLEI USA will provide participants with:

  • Four Live, 90-minute web-based sessions 
  • One-on-one, 30-minute consultations for personalized support
  • Peer exchange and learning, including climate and sustainability best practices from leading experts
  • ICLEI USA’s Climate and Sustainability Communications Toolkit, templates, and other resources

Registrations will be accepted through 06/06/2024 or until maximum capacity is reached. You will be notified about the status of your registration by 06/13/2025.

There is no additional cost to participate. Participants will receive 6 hours of group instruction, 30 minutes of scheduled 1-on-1 consultations, and access to our Climate & Sustainability Toolkit.

Who Will Participate

Up to 30 ICLEI USA members will participate. This cohort is not limited to those with defined Communications roles. Government staff working in any department who have an interest in boosting their sustainability communications will find value.

Effort Level

Participants will attend six hours of live virtual training sessions. Participants are encouraged to put their learning into practice by advancing a project in their departments that can benefit from a communications component. They are also encouraged to schedule 30-minute 1-on-1 scheduled consultations. Hours will vary.
