2015 will be a pivotal year for addressing climate change. In the US, the federal government will finalize proposed power plant regulations and will offer national emissions reduction targets feeding into a new international climate agreement to be completed in November 2015. As the largest network of local governments addressing climate change, ICLEI is preparing for this critical year by partnering with World Wildlife Fund to compile information on local community emissions inventories and reduction goals. This data will inform a high-profile report to showcase the scale and importance of local climate action, and to inspire strong commitments at the national and international levels.
Spend just a few minutes to send us your emissions data before September 15, and we’ll use it to build the Measuring Up 2015 Report from the bottom up. For this limited time, we’ll also upload your data intoICLEI’s Carbonn reporting platform for you!
Have you Developed an Emissions Inventory or Reduction Target?
If so, make sure your data is included in this collective, national effort. Instructions vary depending on your mode of tracking:
- ClearPath Users: ClearPath is ICLEI’s new online emissions analysis software, replacing our popular CACP and CAPPA tools. If you are a ClearPath user, simply grant us permission to include your public information in the report and Carbonn, and we will do so.
- CACP Users: Submit your data export from CACP here and we will process it. Instructions for creating this export are on the data entry form, and we will walk you through it on the August 21st webinar.
- Other ( i.e. Excel workbook): Submit other formats of your data export here.* Data will be submitted to Carbonn in early 2015, around the time of the report release. We will work with data in an format to the degree we are able, however, for data other than ClearPath or CACP exports we may not be able to submit to Carbonn.
Get Your Community into Carbonn
In addition to informing the report, your data will be entered into to Carbonn, the leading global reporting platform of local climate action. Carbonn and the report together will powerfully show the importance of local action. Over 100 communities in the US already report through Carbonn, and being in the platform will fulfill commitments under the Resilient Communities for Americaagreement and make your community eligible for grant opportunities through next year’s Earth Hour City Challenge(contact kevin.taylor@wwfus.org).
For a limited time, it is easier than ever — just submit your data above, and we’ll do the rest.
Inventory Not Complete Yet?
If you do not yet have an emissions inventory for your community, ICLEI’sClearPath software makes it easier than ever to create one. While Carbonn is the leading platform for reporting local emissions, ClearPath is the leading tool for measuring those emissions, and for planning how to reduce them. ClearPath is an all-in-one suite of online tools to complete GHG inventories, forecasts, and climate action plans at the community-wide or government operations scale, replacing ICLEI’s popular CACP desktop software.
