For more than thirty years, ICLEI- Local Governments for Sustainability USA (ICLEI USA) has supported its national membership network of local governments in advancing sustainability goals. As a sub-awardee of the Municipal Investment Fund from the Coalition for Green Capital, we are deploying funds on the ground—an essential step in strengthening our network and expanding our impact beyond it.
The EPA’s action on March 11, 2025, is an unauthorized and unlawful attempt to terminate our grant. We remain committed to full transparency and will provide all necessary information to demonstrate our compliance with the terms of our contract.
Our focus remains on disbursing funds to 104 communities across all 50 states, supporting projects that lower electricity costs, create good-paying jobs, and deliver clean air and water for all Americans. We stand firm in our commitment to supporting local governments in achieving sustainability goals this year and beyond.
