Consumption-Based GHG Accounting 2020 Training Cohort

Beginning in early 2021, ICLEI will host the “Consumption-Based Inventory Cohort”, a structured technical assistance program to guide local governments through the steps of creating a consumption based greenhouse gas inventory in real time. The Training Session is available to ICLEI USA members at no additional cost.

The 25-week Session will will assist up to 10 cities to create a consumption-based GHG inventory following either complentary frameworks for the U.S. Community Protocol (USCP) or procedures in line with those required by Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy’s Common Reporting Framework (CRF). 

By the end of the program, participants will have conducted a consumption-based GHG inventory to better influence GHG reduction measures for their community.

What assistance will you get?

Program participants will have exclusive access to the following resources:

  • Live, 1-hour web-based presentations
  • Peer exchange and learning
  • One-on-one assistance for the duration of the cohort

Trainings will be approximately every two weeks and recorded sessions and resources will be made available to all. Session materials will support participants in conducting a consumption-based GHG inventory. 

Who should participate?

Any ICLEI USA member city, town, county, or regional affiliate is eligible to participate. Priority will be given to local governments that have already completed a conventional GHG inventory.

Local governments working with interns are also welcome to apply.
The Consumption-Based Inventory Cohort has been postponed to 2021.
