Forum Welcome & Plenary – Migration as Adaptation: The Impact of Climate Mobility on Cities and Ecosystems  |  Tuesday, May 12 ⋅ 8:45 AM -11:00 AM

This panel will examine climate mobility as a critical dimension of climate adaptation and why it matters for practitioners working across sectors and geographies. The session will open with a facilitated conversation exploring how climate mobility, including local resilience and safe migration, intersects with adaptation planning at the local, regional, and national levels.

“Moving Forward on Climate Migration:” Incorporating Climate Induced Migration into Your Local-Level Resilience Work  |  Tuesday, May 12 ⋅ 11:30 AM -12:30 PM

In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to hear from leaders in the growing “US climate migration and communities” field, and get to experiment with planning for future action on this topic. 

Lessons from Pittsburgh on Scaling Equitable Tree Canopy through Catalytic Investments and Regional Collaboration  |  Wednesday, May 13 ⋅ 9:00 – 10:30 AM

This session explores how an ICLEI USA Google Action Fund grant brought together partners to manage and expand Pittsburgh’s urban tree canopy as climate resilience infrastructure in ways that maximize benefits for communities with the greatest need. 

Addressing the Money Problem: Funding Adaptation  |  Wednesday, May 13 ⋅ 4:00 – 5:30 PM

In this session, ICLEI USA Board Member Victoria Salinas will share lessons from a forthcoming primer and case study examples on how local governments can mobilize private capital for needed investments in adaptation and resilience.
