ICLEI USA and Climateview Launch a Strategic Partnership to Transform Climate Action for U.S. Subnational Governments

ICLEI USA and ClimateView announce a strategic partnership to accelerate climate action.

Climate Week NYC, New York – September 24, 2024. Today, at Climate Week NYC, ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability USA (ICLEI USA) and ClimateView have formalized their strategic partnership aimed at accelerating U.S. subnational governments’ transition towards a sustainable future. This collaboration merges ICLEI USA’s deep technical expertise in urban sustainability action with ClimateView’s cutting-edge technology to deliver a next-generation platform designed to equip local and regional governments with the tools they need to achieve ambitious climate goals.

At the ICLEI World Congress São Paulo Summit, ICLEI USA and ClimateView first shared their intention to join forces in developing advanced technology solutions for climate action planning, investment, and implementation. This vision is now being realized through a state-of-the-art platform that will empower ICLEI USA’s network of 500 subnational governments to advance their sustainability transition efforts more rapidly and efficiently.

“Today, at Climate Week NYC, we are thrilled to officially launch the partnership between ICLEI USA and ClimateView. This transatlantic collaboration creates the largest global community of subnational governments adopting the same structured approach to climate action. By building on ICLEI USA’s long standing deep knowledge of urban sustainability, and integrating the existing ClearPath platform with ClimateView’s technology, we are empowering 500 U.S. cities, towns, regions and tribal nations in rapidly advancing climate goals and driving sustainable progress.” – Saharnaz Mirzazad, Executive Director of ICLEI USA

Leveraging the largest city dataset available from over a thousand local and regional governments in the U.S. and Europe, the collective power of this community will enable subnational governments to learn from one another, adopt best practices, and optimize their sustainability strategies. Additionally, integrated financial tools and data analytics will streamline urban climate planning, helping local and regional governments to secure the necessary investments and public support to achieve their climate goals.

“This partnership represents one of the largest transatlantic collaborations in urban climate action history. By uniting ClimateView’s innovative technology with ICLEI USA’s extensive expertise, experience and network, we are opening up unprecedented opportunities for U.S. subnational governments to achieve significant and lasting sustainability outcomes. It sets a new benchmark for international cooperation on climate solutions, enabling U.S. and European cities and regions to learn from each other.” – Tomer Shalit, Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer of ClimateView

The formalization of this partnership at Climate Week NYC marks a critical step towards realizing the vision of a global joint structured approach to empower subnational governments to lead the way in climate action and resilience.
