Municipalities and counties in the Tampa Bay, Florida Region are looking to improve Climate Action Planning efforts. However, many Florida municipalities are not yet prepared to undertake community-wide efforts. Many prefer to start at the local government level. This cohort introduced participating communities to the local government operations inventory and prepared them for the next steps of government operations climate action planning.
ICLEI USA led cohort sessions, provided necessary materials/guidance, and provided municipality specific technical support. Or cohort structure supports the completion of various government operations inventories.
Every community completed their inventory with varying levels of details. Participants increased awareness and knowledge for inventories and the process to create inventories
