ICLEI USA Sustainability Commons on Adaptation Finance
March 24, 1 p.m. ET
What are the Sustainability Commons?
The ICLEI USA Sustainability Commons is a peer exchange space. This supportive environment allows ICLEI USA members to openly share challenges, lessons learned, and peer solutions around emerging sustainability topics.
Who should attend?
These sessions are open to ICLEI USA members and are primarily attended by staff whose roles are most relevant to the session topic.
About this Session
Local governments across the ICLEI network are exploring how to finance adaptation and resilience projects beyond traditional grants and public funding. Join ICLEI USA for a Sustainability Commons conversation focused on sharing real experiences and identifying practical approaches that can help communities unlock new sources of capital.
Victoria Salinas (ICLEI USA Board Member; Duke University Climate Leader in Residence; former FEMA Deputy Administrator for Resilience) will introduce a forthcoming Adaptation and Resilience Finance Primer and case study series designed to help local governments better frame resilience investments and engage private capital.
In breakout discussions, participants will share what they’ve tried, the successes and challenges faced financing resilience, explore tools and approaches under consideration, and identify valuable case studies that could inform the Adaptation and Resilience Finance Primer.
If your community is working to unlock funding for adaptation and resilience, join this peer exchange and help shape ICLEI USA’s forthcoming resources.
