We are pleased to announce that ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability USA is seeking a consultant to lead the facilitation and development of our next five-year strategic plan. As the largest and oldest network of local governments dedicated to sustainability, ICLEI USA stands at an exciting juncture, with ongoing growth and an evolving suite of services supporting climate action, resilience, and equity across our member communities.
The attached Request for Proposal (RFP) outlines a comprehensive scope of work, including:
- Strategic conversations with our Board and Leadership
- Research and stakeholder outreach, including a landscape analysis
- Virtual team framing and launch session
- Facilitation of an all-staff retreat in Denver (travel required in October)
- Development of a strategic plan and supporting materials
- Alignment of our mission and vision through inclusive dialogue
We are seeking a consultant or team with in-depth expertise in organizational strategy, climate governance, and experience working with mission-driven nonprofits or sustainability networks. Skills in hybrid facilitation, systems thinking, and inclusive stakeholder engagement are essential.
Project Details:
- Duration: August 2025 – December 2025 (6 months, with project launch in September)
- Budget Cap: $50,000 USD
- Submission Deadline: August 1, 2025
