ICLEI USA and ICLEI Africa are advancing the Race to Resilience Culture (RTRC) initiative, helping cities demonstrate how culture, heritage, and creativity strengthen climate resilience.

From Honolulu’s integration of Indigenous knowledge in climate planning to Nakuru County’s nature-based solutions rooted in tradition, communities across 31 cities are redefining what resilience looks like.

Through storytelling, art, and ancestral wisdom, the RTRC cohort is showing that lasting climate action begins with culture and grows through community leadership.
