Context

This capacity-building cohort provides structured technical assistance to guide local governments through the steps necessary to develop a Sustainability Plan.  A sustainability plan addresses social, economic, and environmental elements of community development and management.

Project Activity

ICLEI provided 16 member participants with: 10 web-based presentations; peer exchange and learning, including sustainability best practices; ICLEI’s extensive Sustainability Plan Toolkit, templates, and other resources; and individualized assistance with GHG inventory and planning features in ClearPath, as applicable.

Outcomes

Two communities was awarded the Bright Cities Healthy Babies Funding Award
Average of 10 communities in each session of 16 potential
Two community participants went on to join the US Community Protocol subcommittees
