The Los Angeles Business Council (LABC) is excited to announce that the 2020 Sustainability Summit is now confirmed as a new two-day, virtual event on September 21st and September 22nd, 2020.
The Summit will feature local, state, and federal leaders including: Former Vice President Joe Biden’s environmental justice surrogate Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester, California congressional committee leaders Alan Lowenthal and Tony Cárdenas, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, California Secretary of Transportation David Kim, and many other prominent public officials. Business and community keynotes include: Emile Haddad, Chairman and CEO, FivePoint, USC President Carol Folt, Maria Race, Director Sustainability, Energy, Carbon and Air, United Airlines and Kevin Payne, President and CEO, Southern California Edison, and more. You can see the attached flyer below for a full list of speakers.
The new VIP & Awards Reception on the evening of Monday, September 21st, will honor LA City Council President Nury Martinez and four LABC business and government leaders who will receive the LABC Renewable Energy Leaders Award. In addition to the distinguished list of speakers, the Summit VIP & Awards Reception provides multiple opportunities to network with many of the event participants through a web-based platform called Remo. The platform creates a virtual ballroom of multiple “tables” (6-person video calls), and allows Summit participants to set up their individual profile and the ability to hop from one table to the next and chat with other participants in a smaller, more casual setting.
